Job Summary

PCL Constructors Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Risk Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing our risk management strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Risk Management: Assist in the planning, design, and implementation of our company-wide risk management process, ensuring alignment with our business objectives and risk appetite.
  • Risk Identification and Assessment: Conduct thorough risk assessments, analyzing contracts, documents, statistics, reports, and market trends to identify potential risks.
  • Risk Evaluation and Mitigation: Evaluate and quantify identified risks, determining costs, legal requirements, environmental factors, and historical loss analysis to develop effective mitigation strategies.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Provide expert advice, counsel, and direction on risk and insurance matters to internal stakeholders, including Operations and Corporate Services.
  • Vendor Management: Direct and manage outsourced service providers in insurance, finance, and legal areas.
  • Negotiation and Contract Management: Participate in negotiations with owners and other third parties related to managing project financial risk.
  • Innovation and Risk Management: Develop creative and cost-effective techniques to manage, mitigate, and finance the cost of risk.
  • Risk Awareness and Education: Educate, train, and build risk awareness with others in the organization.
Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in risk management and/or insurance.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership skills and results-oriented approach.
  • Education: A post-secondary degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, Economics, or Law.
  • Technical Skills: Strong technical acumen in insurance and risk management.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytic, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with an emphasis on presentation, negotiation, and influencing others.
  • Business Acumen: Ability to understand broad and complex business issues.
  • Team Leadership: Ability to lead a high-performance team and project management skills.
