About the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing independent respiratory services, including sleep diagnostics and therapeutics, to clients in the Penticton, BC area. This involves conducting appointments and setting up equipment for sleep diagnostic testing, evaluating client therapies, and determining respiratory therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong cardio-respiratory assessment skills, and the ability to work independently. A valid driver's license and clear vulnerable persons check are also requirements.
What You'll Do:
- Conduct appointments and set-up of equipment for sleep diagnostic testing based on American Academy Sleep Medicine (AASM) guidelines
- Evaluate client therapies based on referrals and determine respiratory therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians
- Initiate PAP therapy when prescribed, providing patients with education, instructions of use, and cleaning and maintaining of their equipment
- Provide regular follow-up to clients to evaluate effects of therapeutic care
- Actively promote related products and provide solutions to client needs
- Maintain most up-to-date continuing education as related to the position to ensure clients receive current therapies and devices
- Comply with and maintain knowledge of all funding processes
- Ensure quality documentation through completion of all documentation and forms
- Participate in oxygen and other respiratory services, including on-call when required
