Job Summary

Reporting to the Senior Manager, you will oversee balance sheet and income statement reconciliations for income-producing segments, manage internal monthly reporting, and review financial statements for private investors. Your solid understanding of finance, operations, and accounting will be crucial in this leadership role. Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor senior accountants
  • Oversee balance sheet and income statement reconciliations for income-producing segments
  • Manage internal monthly reporting and review financial statements for private investors
  • Assist with corporate financial statements and management reports
  • Provide technical accounting advisory services and research complex accounting matters
  • Review month-end financial reports and assist in variance analysis
  • Oversee the annual audit process, internal controls, and document preparation
  • Review and approve journal entries, implement system/process improvements, and ensure internal controls
  • Collaborate with senior management on special projects

Requirements
  • University degree in Finance or Commerce and MUST be CPA certified
  • Leadership/management experience (Big 4 preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP, and financial reporting
  • Independent, detail-oriented, and highly motivated in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; knowledge of Yardi and U.S. GAAP a plus
  • Experience in residential real estate or Big 4's national technical office is an asset
