Senior Functional Safety Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Functional Safety Engineer to join our team at BRP. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and reliability of our electric vehicle propulsion systems.
Key Responsibilities- Define and Implement Safety Requirements: Develop and implement functional safety requirements for our electric vehicle propulsion systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Lead Safety Reviews and Analysis: Conduct thorough safety reviews and analysis of our propulsion systems, identifying potential risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with our design, quality, and manufacturing teams to ensure that our propulsion systems meet the highest safety standards.
- Develop and Maintain Safety Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive safety documentation, including safety cases, hazard analyses, and risk assessments.
- Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Developments: Stay current with the latest industry developments, trends, and regulations, applying this knowledge to improve our safety processes and procedures.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in functional safety engineering, with a focus on electric vehicle propulsion systems.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of functional safety standards, including ISO 26262 and IEC 62304. Proficiency in design process integration and electromechanical/mechatronics systems.
- Language: Fluent in English, with French as an asset.
