Custodian Job Opportunity

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team at School District #40 (New Westminster). As a Custodian, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our schools.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment in assigned areas
  • Perform daily, monthly, and holiday cleaning duties
  • Conduct routine maintenance tasks, such as sweeping, vacuuming, and cleaning fixtures
  • Ensure tools, equipment, and materials are properly cared for and stored
  • Monitor and report any safety hazards or concerns
Requirements:
  • Grade 12 graduation or equivalent
  • Building Service Worker Certification
  • Minimum 6 months of experience in a related field
  • Physical aptitude and ability to perform tasks
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Working Conditions:

Typically 3pm to 11pm, Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday and Sunday shifts

Casual shifts range from 4 to 8 hours per day, with short-term assignments available

Casual employment may lead to a regular position in the district

Salary: $26.89 per hour
