Job Description:

Senior Retail Operations Manager

We are seeking an experienced Senior Retail Operations Manager to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for assisting the Store Manager in the accomplishment of day-to-day operations and management of the assigned store.

Your primary focus will be on ensuring a quality service approach to all employees, customers, and suppliers. You will work closely with the Store Manager, Department Managers, and Retail Specialists to execute strategies aimed at achieving stated goals.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing superior customer service while supporting Farm Boy's vision of the best fresh shopping experience.
  • Collaborating with the Store Manager and other teams to achieve business objectives.
  • Communicating effectively to lead the team, including one-on-one coaching, huddles, metrics, product knowledge, and corporate policies and procedures.
  • Developing and maintaining a high-performing team by conducting interviews, training, reviews, coaching, motivation, and recognition.
  • Promoting company policy and ensuring compliance.
  • Assisting in implementing the health and safety program and acting on recommendations made by the Joint Health and Safety Committee.
  • Participating in community events and ensuring Farm Boy's continued community presence.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A post-secondary program with an emphasis in business, plus 5-7 years of progressively responsible managerial experience in retail, preferably in the perishable food industry.
  • Successful completion of a Public Health Food Handler certification, Smart Serve, and Basic CPR certification, or the commitment to complete within 6 months.
  • Good knowledge of retail industry, food products, and superior standards of quality.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to learn manual and automated systems/tools.
  • Experience working with various computer software programs, such as Microsoft Office.
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Fluency in English and French is considered an asset.
