Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team at NL Health Services. As a Registered Nurse in Obstetrics, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Provide expert nursing care to patients during labor, delivery, and post-natal periods.
- Initiate and support breastfeeding, and provide education to patients and families.
- Participate in quality assurance initiatives and contribute to the improvement of patient care.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care and communication.
- Document patient information accurately and thoroughly, in accordance with professional and organizational standards.
- Administer medication and participate in medication reconciliation, as required.
- Represent nursing on various committees and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Graduation from an approved/recognized school of nursing program.
- Current and continuing practicing licensure with the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (CRNNL).
- 2 years Acute Care nursing experience within the last 5 years.
- Obstetrical Education Program or willingness to complete, within the timeframe designated by the employer.
- Successful completion of NRP or willingness to complete, within the timeframe designated by the employer.
- Breastfeeding education/course.
- ACLS, TNCC, and Medevac courses are considered an asset.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (CPR).
- The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory certificate of conduct and vulnerable sector check.
This is a variable shift position, with on-call requirements. The successful candidate will be required to work a minimum of 14 continuous days to be eligible for the premium locum rate.
Salary and BenefitsThe salary for this position is $51.66 per hour, with a premium locum rate of an additional $25/hour. Other benefits are in accordance with the RNUNL Collective Agreement.
