Key Responsibilities- Safety and Compliance: Work safely through appropriate behaviors and adherence to Rio Tinto's safety standards, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and your team.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance and extend equipment lifespan.
- Production and Efficiency: Operate heavy equipment to meet production targets, while maintaining a focus on efficiency and productivity.
- Communication and Teamwork: Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to resolve safety and process deficiencies, and provide feedback on equipment performance.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement and develop solutions to eliminate issues and problems in the work area.
- A commitment to safety and a strong safety record.
- A valid Class 5 driver's license; other classes will be considered an asset.
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent; or relevant post-secondary training (Heavy Equipment Operator Course) or sufficient years of demonstrated relevant experience.
- Previous experience with heavy equipment or in an industrial environment will be considered an asset.
