About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Underground Mine Controller to join our team in Voisey's Bay, Labrador. As a key member of our Underground Operations team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our underground mining activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and control the startup and shutdown of fixed equipment, as well as the monitoring of paste fill, ground movement, and equipment for underground mining activities.
  • Communicate with mine personnel to request feedback and assistance as required, and provide guidance on process.
  • Provide feedback to supervision on equipment issues for follow-up with maintenance.
  • Coordinate the startup and shutdown of equipment for issues and troubleshooting with maintenance personnel.
  • Play a central role in coordinating emergency services in the emergency response plan for the UG mines.
  • Monitor all mobile equipment information collected through the equipment monitoring system, as well as UG fixed equipment, including surface fresh air and exhaust fans.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in a coordination role for mining activities.
  • Ability to interpret real-time information from multiple sources and respond with appropriate action.
  • Solid understanding of maintenance processes in an underground environment.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced working environment with tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication and organization skills.
  • Strong computer skills, proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite.
