Bakery Team Lead

As a key member of our bakery team, the Bakery Associate Team Leader plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our store's bakery department. This role requires a strong leader who can motivate and guide a team of bakery associates to achieve exceptional results in terms of customer satisfaction, sales, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement effective store layouts and product merchandising strategies to drive sales and customer engagement.
- Work closely with the Team Leader to achieve sales, purchasing, and labor targets, while maintaining a high level of customer service.
- Assist in the analysis of sales reports and labor data to inform business decisions and drive continuous improvement.
- Stay up-to-date on new products and trends, and develop a deep understanding of our bakery offerings to provide expert advice to customers.
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and efficient delivery of products.
- Provide coaching and guidance to team members to help them develop their skills and achieve their full potential.
- Take on additional responsibilities in the absence of the Team Leader, including managing the bakery department and ensuring seamless operations.
- Set and achieve high standards of retail execution, including maintaining a clean and organized store environment.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team culture, promoting outstanding teamwork, mutual respect, and exceptional morale.
- Monitor customer flows and needs, and direct team members to provide exceptional customer service and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Select, train, develop, mentor, motivate, and counsel team members to create a high-performing team and minimize turnover.
- Provide timely, thorough, and thoughtful performance evaluations to support team member growth and development.

- Advanced knowledge of regulatory and safety policies and procedures.
- Proficient mathematical skills for assessing financial performance, monitoring profitability, and managing inventory.
- Demonstrated decision-making ability, leadership skills, and ability to prioritize and delegate.
- Proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and operations-related applications.
- At least 18 months of retail Team Member experience and 6+ months of supervisory experience.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- In an 8-hour work day: standing/walking 6-8 hours.
- Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
- Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching.
- Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals.
- Exposure to temperatures: 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Ability to work in wet and dry conditions.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to use tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
- May require use of ladders.
