Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care, adhering to established policies, physician's orders, and resident care plans.
  • Utilize sound practice principles to ensure excellent nursing care and personal attention in assigned home areas.
  • Facilitate timely and safe admissions, ensuring comprehensive orientation for residents, including services offered within the home.
  • Manage drug supplies, control, and safekeeping; adhere to protocols on all shifts.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care to meet residents' physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and social needs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science – Nursing (BScN), Bachelor of Nursing (BN), or equivalent qualification.
  • Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Effective, compassionate, and supportive interactions with others.
  • Awareness of each resident's individuality, respecting their self-respect, privacy, and right to participate in care decisions.
  • Knowledge of relevant Federal, Provincial, and Municipal Statutes influencing Long Term Care operations.
  • Medical Clearance, Vulnerable Sector Police Check, Adult Abuse Registry Check, and Clear Criminal Record check.
