Job Title: Building Cleaner

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Building Cleaner to join our team at Alberta Ltd. as a permanent employee. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for our employees and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors to ensure a clean and safe environment
  • Dust furniture and fixtures to maintain a clean and tidy appearance
  • Vacuum carpeting, area rugs, draperies, and upholstered furniture to ensure a clean and comfortable environment
  • Handle and report lost and found items to ensure a smooth and efficient process
  • Pick up debris and empty trash containers to maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Wash windows, walls, and ceilings to ensure a clean and well-maintained environment
Support for Newcomers and Refugees:
  • Assist with immediate settlement needs of newcomers and/or refugees, including housing, transportation, storage, childcare, and winter clothing
  • Support social and labour market integration of newcomers and/or refugees, including facilitating access to community resources, language training, and skills training
  • Recruit newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster
  • Offer mentorship programs that pair newcomers and/or refugees with experienced employees
  • Provide diversity and cross-cultural trainings to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and/or refugees
Support for Indigenous People:
  • Develop and maintain relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses, and organizations
  • Provide cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers
  • Facilitate access to Elders who can offer support and guidance to Indigenous workers
