Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Project Lead to join our team at Hydro One Networks Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading key environmental management work and deliverables throughout the project life cycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee all aspects of environmental assessments, including retaining and managing environmental consultants, project notices, and enhanced engagement planning and execution.
  • Develop and track environmental work plans, budget estimates, and schedules, ensuring accuracy and appropriate application of technical data.
  • Conduct site visits and monitor environmental aspects of stations and lines capital projects in the field, where necessary.
  • Prepare and review Environmental Due Diligence Reports, Environmental Protection Plans/Requirements Documents, and permitting and monitoring in support of new electrical infrastructure projects.
  • Provide advice, guidance, and assistance to project and asset managers and construction personnel regarding environmental aspects, applicable legislation, and guidelines.
  • Participate in negotiations to resolve conflicts and make well-informed commitments on behalf of the Company.
Requirements
  • Four-year university degree in environmental studies, planning, natural sciences, or a related field.
  • Over six to eight years of relevant work experience in environmental planning, environmental management, natural heritage, cultural heritage/archaeology, permitting, contract management, and monitoring.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience leading large/complex Class EAs for Infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of environmental issues and legislative requirements, including the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act, Ontario Environmental Protection Act, Provincial Policy Statement, and other relevant legislation.
Travel Expectations

This role may support projects at variable locations throughout Ontario as required based upon project needs.

You will be expected to work full-time (7 hours a day), 5 days a week, with additional travel time required for your projects on occasion.
