Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Construction Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team in Ottawa, ON. This is a full-time position that offers a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for career growth.

About the Role

This position will be responsible for ensuring quality standards and procedures are implemented throughout the company. The successful candidate will oversee commissioning database management, generate reports on commissioning status, and provide training to operations and maintenance teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Documentation and Records Management: Review project documentation, including drawings, manuals, and specifications. Coordinate and compile as-built drawings and documentation. Maintain records of changes and deviations from original submissions.
  • Commissioning and Testing: Oversee commissioning database management to ensure system testing and functionality. Generate reports on commissioning status and pending items.
  • Punch List Management: Identify and document incomplete work or deficiencies. Coordinate with Operations to address punch list items before handover.
  • Training and Knowledge Transfer: Provide training to operations and maintenance teams. Ensure receiving teams understand all aspects of projects.
  • Coordination and Communication: Act as primary point of contact between construction, subcontractors, and operations. Facilitate clear communication among stakeholders.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, welding technology, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a related position in construction.
  • Working knowledge of quality control procedures relating to construction activities preferred.
  • ASQ, CQM, CQA, or CWI certified and inspection experience a plus.
  • Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in various climates and environments.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Team player with ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives.
Estimated Salary Range:

$85,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience.
