About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Greenhouse Worker to join our team at Ed Sobkowich Greenhouses. As a Greenhouse Worker, you will be responsible for maintaining the health and productivity of our greenhouse crops.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greenhouse Maintenance: Clean and maintain the greenhouse environment, including pruning trees, shrubs, and plants, and mixing and preparing soils.
  • Plant Care: Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens, and report signs of insect or disease damage.
  • Soil Preparation: Mix and prepare soils for optimal plant growth.
  • Task Assistance: Assist in pruning trees, shrubs, and plants, and pot and re-pot plants as needed.
  • Reporting: Report any signs of insect or disease damage to the management team.
Work Environment

As a Greenhouse Worker, you will be working in a fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads, and standing for extended periods. You will also be required to bend, crouch, and kneel as needed.

Requirements
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to pay attention to detail and report any signs of insect or disease damage.
  • Team Player: Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience: Previous experience in greenhouse production or a related field is an asset.
  • Language: Fluency in English is required.
  • Availability: Availability to work 32 to 55 hours per week.
