About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer-in-Training to join our team at Williams Engineering Canada. As a Mechanical Engineer-in-Training, you will have the opportunity to work on various projects, assist in the technical capability and production requirements of the Service Line, and contribute to the company's mission of brightening the lives of people in our community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Project Manager to provide our clients with finished projects in a timely manner.
  • Communicate effectively with the Project Manager, collecting and coordinating useful information.
  • Maintain a working relationship with other team members.
  • Participate in discussions with clients as required.
  • Gain an understanding of quality control.
  • Under supervision, prepare engineering design, specification, and/or recommendations for various tasks, including HVAC, energy analysis, equipment selection, and more.
  • Under supervision, write basic field inspections and technical reports.
  • Develop routine mechanical drawings with draftsperson.
  • Conduct site evaluations and inspections with the support of senior team members.
  • Participate in facility evaluations and assist in technical report writing.
  • Under supervision, complete design and spec drawings.
  • Under supervision, design routine mechanical details and write technical specifications.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) status with appropriate Provincial Association.
  • Working towards a P.Eng.

Skills and Capabilities:

  • Understanding of HVAC, energy analysis, equipment selection, and more.
  • Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to listen well, respect diversity of opinions, and communicate clearly and succinctly.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and meet required deadlines.
  • Ability to represent the company to team members, clients, and community, ensuring the best image is presented.
  • Application knowledge of WE systems and programs, including MS Office 365, SharePoint, Deltek Vision, AutoCAD, and Revit MEP.
  • Build an understanding of engineering calculations with accurate, clear design notes.
  • Understanding of the ethical application of technical work.
  • Understanding of local, provincial, and national codes, regulations, and guidelines affecting design and construction.
