About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Intellectual Property Technical Advisor to join our team at Centre de services Soucy. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in protecting our intellectual property and promoting innovation.

As a Technical Advisor, you will be responsible for evaluating new concepts, conducting prior art searches, drafting patent applications, and coordinating with engineering teams to monitor new patents. You will also analyze existing patents and identify potential issues related to third-party intellectual property rights.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Evaluate new concepts to identify potential innovations
  2. Conduct prior art searches to ensure patentability
  3. Draft patent applications to protect our intellectual property
  4. Coordinate with engineering teams to monitor new patents
  5. Analyze existing patents to identify potential issues
  6. Identify potential issues related to third-party intellectual property rights
Requirements
  1. Academic or professional experience in mechanical engineering
  2. Bachelor's or technical degree in engineering (an asset)
  3. Experience with patents (an asset)
  4. Minimum of three (3) years relevant experience
  5. Bilingualism (French and English) for searching, drafting, and translating patent-related documents
  6. Interest in product development and/or research and development (R&D) (an asset)
  7. Interest in artificial intelligence and/or robotics (an asset)
  8. Minutia, patience, and ability to maintain concentration over long periods of time
  9. Organizational skills and ability to manage documentation in a structured manner
  10. Self-reliance and resourcefulness
