Residential Maintenance Technician

Mainline Living Property Management is seeking a skilled Residential Maintenance Technician to join our team at the Lumina Apartments development in Kitchener, Ontario.
This position is responsible for ensuring the proper functioning and appearance of our properties by overseeing regular inspections and coordinating with contractors for preventative maintenance projects.
The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting regular inspections of properties to identify maintenance needs and areas requiring improvement, ensuring compliance with building codes and safety regulations, and developing and maintaining strong relationships with contractors.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting regular inspections of properties to identify maintenance needs and areas requiring improvement.
- Ensuring compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with contractors.
- Monitoring the performance of contractors and providing feedback to head office.
- Responding to emergencies and maintaining accurate records of all maintenance work.
- Collaborating with property managers and other personnel to coordinate maintenance tasks effectively.
Qualifications and experience include:
- 3+ years of experience in maintenance or a related field, with experience in contractor and contract management.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with contractors, residents, and staff.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex issues efficiently.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accurate records and effectively manage inventory.
