Key Responsibilities- Provide safe and evidence-informed nursing care to patients with acute medical and surgical needs.
- Assess patient needs, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes.
- Administer medications, perform various medical procedures, and provide education to patients and families.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and achieve optimal outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care transitions.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Recent medical/surgical experience in an acute care setting.
- Coronary Care I certification within 6 months of hire.
- Previous cardiac monitoring experience is an asset.
- Strong patient assessment skills and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
