Nurse Practitioner

Halton Healthcare is seeking a skilled and dedicated Nurse Practitioner to join our team in the Emergency Department. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the delivery of exceptional healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients of all ages, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Conduct thorough assessments, including physical examinations and diagnostic tests, to identify patient needs and develop effective treatment plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, and monitor patient responses to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Develop and maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including medical histories, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures to enhance patient care and safety.
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Current Heart & Stroke Approved BLS Provider Card.
- Previous Emergency Department experience required.
- Experience in triage and in-charge responsibilities required.
- ACLS certificate required at time of hire and ongoing.
- Completion of an on-site sponsored course within one year of hire date.
- Successful completion of Canadian Emergency Nursing Certification Exam would be an asset.
- Successful completion of post-diploma Emergency courses, TNCC, ENPC, PALS, would be an asset.
- Basic ECG interpretation and 12 lead ECG application and interpretation preferred.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position.
- Satisfactory employment and attendance record required.
The Emergency Department is a fast-paced and dynamic environment that requires flexibility and adaptability. As a Nurse Practitioner, you will work in a team-based setting, collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care. You will be required to work varied shifts, including evenings, nights, and weekends, and may be required to work in a variety of settings, including the Emergency Department, inpatient units, and community clinics.
