About the Role

Canadian Blood Services is seeking a Temporary Part-Time Laboratory Assistant to join our dynamic Production team in Brampton, Ontario.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the production of blood components, including whole blood, apheresis platelets, and plasma.
  • Receive, assess, and process whole blood collections to final products.
  • Collaborate with the laboratory manager to develop and evaluate procedures.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records related to inventory.
  • Perform routine maintenance of equipment and work areas to ensure safety and quality of blood products.
Requirements
  • Completion of secondary education and minimum 1 year laboratory work experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Technical skills including MS Office and ability to learn systems and programs as required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
