Agnico Eagle Mines Limited is seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our Mobile Maintenance team at the Detour Lake Mine site. The successful candidate will be responsible for the proper maintenance and repair of all heavy equipment, as well as performing preventative maintenance and operational safety inspections.

About the Opportunity

Based at the Detour Lake Mine site, this exciting opportunity offers a chance to work in a fast-paced production environment with a team of experienced professionals. The Heavy Duty Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining and repairing ultra-class mining equipment, including Caterpillar shovels and Epiroc drills.

Responsibilities
  • Perform regular servicing, preventative maintenance and repairs on all applicable mobile equipment;
  • Use of computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of required repairs;
  • Repairing hydraulic, powertrain and electrical systems;
  • Use of various tools including hydraulic power units, torque wrenches and hoists;
  • Identifying and reporting part requirements and supplies as required;
  • Preparing electronic service reports and documentation in an accurate and timely manner;
  • Maintaining a safe, clean and efficient work area.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years' related experience in a fast-paced production environment, as well as experience with ultra-class mining equipment. A Heavy Duty Equipment Technician certificate is considered an asset. The successful candidate will be computer literate and have proven knowledge of CAT ET & SIS Web.
