About the Role

This is a senior-level position that requires a high degree of technical expertise and leadership skills. As a Senior ServiceNow Developer Lead, you will be responsible for leading a team of developers in the design, development, and implementation of ServiceNow solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and leadership to the development team, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • ServiceNow Expertise: Develop and maintain deep expertise in ServiceNow, including its architecture, design principles, and best practices.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that they are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Vendor Governance: Conduct vendor governance in the lab, ensuring that vendor requirements, solutions, and code are aligned with Service Management Technology design principles, Scotiabank Reference Architecture, and SMT Coding standards.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product owners, technical navigators, and architects, to ensure that ServiceNow solutions meet business requirements.
  • Coaching and Development: Provide coaching and development opportunities to team members, ensuring that they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their roles.
  • Technical Debt Reduction: Work to aggressively eliminate technical debt in the Scotia ServiceNow platform, and to build solutions that minimize customization and optimize for speed and optimal user experience.
  • Risk Management: Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Team Management: Create an environment in which the team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to, and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk.
  • People Strategy: Build a high-performance environment and implement a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates the team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviors; communicating vision/values/business strategy; and managing succession and development planning for the team.
Requirements
  • Education: Computer Science Diploma or Degree; or related work experience, excellent JavaScript skills.
  • Certifications: ITIL Foundation certification or training, ServiceNow Advanced System Administrator certified, ServiceNow Scripting certification a plus.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of ServiceNow Experience within modules/applications (and ServiceNow in general), 3-5 years' experience and hands-on development in general module configuration on the ServiceNow Platform.
  • Skills: Strong partnership and collaboration skills, an interest in leading people, and in developing coaching skills.
