Bergen Excavating Ltd. is seeking a skilled and reliable Long Haul Truck Driver to join our team. As a key member of our transportation department, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods across the country.
Key Responsibilities:- Load and Unload Goods: Safely load and unload goods from our vehicles, ensuring that all cargo is properly secured and accounted for.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain the condition of our vehicles, including tires, lights, brakes, and cold storage equipment.
- Payment and Receipt: Accurately receive and process payments for goods, ensuring that all financial transactions are properly recorded.
- Emergency Roadside Repairs: Perform emergency roadside repairs to ensure that our vehicles are always in good working condition.
- Pre-Trip and Post-Trip Inspections: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure that our vehicles are safe and roadworthy.
- Preventive Maintenance: Perform regular preventive maintenance tasks to extend the life of our vehicles and prevent costly repairs.
- Cargo Security: Ensure the safety and security of our cargo at all times, including tarping and securing loads.
- Driver's License: A valid Class 1 or A driver's license is required.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail is essential for ensuring the safe and secure transportation of goods.
- Physical Capabilities: The ability to lift, bend, and move heavy objects is required for this role.
This is a permanent, full-time position with a regular 50-hour workweek. The work language is English, and the work term is permanent.
