Truck Driver

Bergen Excavating Ltd. is seeking a skilled Long Haul Truck Driver to join our team. As a key member of our transportation department, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods across the country.
Key Responsibilities:- Load and Unload Goods: Safely load and unload goods from our vehicles, ensuring that all cargo is properly secured and accounted for.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain our vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition, including checking tires, lights, brakes, and cold storage.
- Payment and Receipt: Manage payment and receipt of goods, ensuring accurate and timely transactions.
- Emergency Repairs: Perform emergency roadside repairs to minimize downtime and ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Pre-Trip and Post-Trip Inspections: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure all aspects of the vehicle are in good working condition.
- Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent mechanical issues and ensure the longevity of our vehicles.
- Cargo Security: Ensure the safety and security of cargo during transportation, including tarping and securing loads as needed.
- Driver's License: Possess a valid Class 1 or A driver's license.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Experience: Experience an asset, but not required.
- Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks.
- Personal Suitability: Flexibility, organized, reliable, team player, hardworking, and patient.
This is a permanent position with a 50-hour workweek. The language of work is English.
