Key Responsibilities- Project Planning and Execution
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems
- Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
- Team Leadership and Support
- Supervise other workers to ensure efficient and safe working practices
- Provide guidance and training to junior staff members
- Cultural Competency and Diversity
- Develop and implement diversity and cross-cultural training programs to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and refugees
- Provide cultural competency training and awareness programs to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers
