School Psychologists work under the administrative direction of the Superintendent of Special Education and Learning Services or designate, and the clinical direction of the Chief Psychologist. The role requires applying knowledge of human behaviour, development, and mental health to support students' learning, mental health, and well-being through assessment, intervention, and consultation.

Responsibilities include:
Direct Student Support:
- Conduct psychological assessments and develop individualized plans for students.
- Implement prevention and intervention programs to promote student well-being.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide crisis interventions.
Indirect Student Support:
- Participate in school conferences and team meetings to discuss student progress.
- Consult with teachers, principals, and other staff to address student challenges.
- Develop and implement recommendations for students with diverse needs.
- Prepare assessment summaries for IPRCs and present findings to parents and school staff.
Other Responsibilities:
- Provide professional development opportunities for educators.
- Stay current with relevant research in psychology and education.
- Pursue additional training and certifications as required.
The estimated salary for this position is $90,000-$140,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications. The Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board offers a comprehensive benefits package and a supportive work environment.
