Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Health Specialist to join our team at Northern Health Authority. As an Environmental Health Specialist, you will play a critical role in protecting the health and well-being of our community by conducting environmental health assessments, providing education and training, and ensuring compliance with environmental health legislation and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct environmental health assessments to identify and mitigate health hazards
  • Provide education and training to the public, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders on environmental health issues
  • Ensure compliance with environmental health legislation and regulations
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement health promotion programs
  • Participate in community outreach and engagement activities to promote environmental health awareness
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health or a related field
  • Registration with the Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors (CIPHI)
  • Valid BC Class 5 Driver's License and possession of a personal vehicle
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
