We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Fraser Health as a Cardiac Services Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our cardiac services.
Key Responsibilities- Assess patients and collect information from various sources to inform nursing care.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the interprofessional care team.
- Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing procedures, and educating patients and families.
- Collaborate with the care team to ensure comprehensive care planning and delivery.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
- Act as a preceptor or mentor to new nursing staff and students.
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Completion of Cardiology component of Post Basic Critical Care course, or post basic High Acuity Course, approved Arrhythmia interpretation course plus one year's recent experience in cardiac monitoring or telemetry unit, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Current Basic Rescuer Certificate.
- Clinical proficiency in the designated clinical area.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families/care givers, the public, medical staff and members of the interprofessional care team.
- Ability to promote person-centered care that demonstrates empathy for patients and families/care givers, sensitivity to diverse cultures and preferences, and patient advocacy.
