About the Role

As a Personal Support Worker, you'll provide care to individuals who need assistance with daily activities due to aging, injury, surgery, or illness. Your role will involve:

  • Assisting clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Providing mobility support and assisting with transfers
  • Helping with meal preparation and feeding, if needed
  • Monitoring and recording vital signs and health status
  • Providing emotional support and companionship to clients
  • Ensuring the safety and well-being of clients at all times
  • Assisting with medication reminders under supervision
  • Reporting any changes in clients' health or behavior to healthcare professionals
  • Acting upon delegated tasks as required within your scope of practice
Requirements
  • Valid Personal Support Worker Certificate from a Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities or the Ministry of Education approved program
  • Valid G2/G driver's license and access to a reliable car preferred
  • Physical ability to stand, bend, walk, crouch, kneel, and reach, ability to lift 50lbs (23 kg) independently, ability to assist clients with standing, walking, and sitting, ability to reposition clients in bed
  • Valid Standard First Aid and Level C CPR
  • Updated immunization records, including completion of a two-step tuberculosis test within the last 6 months
  • Clear Vulnerable sector check required upon hire
  • Ability to interact with others in a caring, tactful, and courteous manner
  • Proficient verbal and written English communication skills
  • Ability to use phone applications
