Early Childhood Assistant

Be the catalyst for young minds to flourish. As an Early Childhood Assistant at the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing environment that fosters growth, learning, and development in children.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional care and support to children, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
  • Develop and implement engaging play-based learning activities that promote cognitive, social, and emotional development.
  • Build strong relationships with families, staff, and volunteers, ensuring open communication and a collaborative approach to childcare.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive environment, accommodating the needs of children with exceptional behaviors and additional needs.
  • Adhere to YMCA policies and procedures, maintaining a high level of professionalism and integrity.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR (Level C) certification
  • Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Up-to-date immunizations
  • Availability to work Monday to Friday, 8:00am-1:00pm and 3:00-6:00pm
