About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Sales Representative to join our team at The North West Company. As a Sales Representative, you will play a key role in securing new orders from existing and new customers, while participating in the development and execution of marketing plans and initiatives based on consumer, demographic, and sales market data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with various customer groups to support business needs;
  • Sell a wide breadth of products, including food, general merchandise, and motorsports;
  • Solicit new and existing customers for orders;
  • Contact pre-existing and new customers for potential orders;
  • Set sales targets and develop plans to achieve those targets;
  • Participate in the management of assortment, pricing, promotions, communications, selling channels, and the interpretation of customer research;
  • Ensure The North West Company is competitive in both market price and product assortment;
  • Run monthly sales reports;
  • Attend various meetings, conferences, and trade show events across Canada;
  • Actively participate in community events, meetings, and gatherings to establish a presence and understand local needs and challenges to ensure strong customer relationships while overseeing territory management.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years' sales experience background;
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook;
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain positive customer relationships;
  • Solid organizational, planning, and prioritizing skills;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, tasks, and assignments;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work flexible hours when required;
  • Great customer service skills;
  • Ability to excel in a team environment while working well independently;
  • Ability to travel to urban centers and remote northern Canadian markets as required.
