Job Summary:
As a Regional Social Work Practice Specialist at Island Health, you will play a crucial role in shaping the social work practice standards and strategies across the Island Wide Long Term Care Program. Reporting to the Manager, you will be accountable for ensuring staff excellence through clinical and educational strategies that support patient-centered care and outcomes.

About the Role:
This position requires expertise in social work professional practice standards and issues. You will develop, implement, and evaluate guidelines, practice standards, and resources to maintain professional standards throughout the continuum of health services. Collaboration with colleagues from other disciplines and service areas is essential to ensure staff development and participation in education, research, accreditation, utilization management, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement clinical and educational strategies to support staff excellence and patient-centered care
- Evaluate guidelines, practice standards, and resources to maintain professional standards
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure staff development and participation in education and quality improvement initiatives
- Travel is required; transportation arrangements must meet operational requirements

Requirements:
- Master's degree in Social Work from an approved institution
- Current registration with the BC College of Social Workers
- Post-secondary courses in Adult Education, Process Improvement, or Change Management
- Three years of experience in adult education, quality improvement, or policy/procedural development
- Experience working with Indigenous groups and fostering Indigenous relations
- Valid BC Driver's License

Salary Range:
$85,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. Benefits include comprehensive health and dental coverage, extended health benefits, group life insurance, and pension plan.
