What is the opportunity?

We are seeking a talented and results-driven professional to join our team as a Senior Application Support Analyst. As a key member of our Finance and Audit IT team, you will be responsible for the maintenance and support of multiple Windows and Linux applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate, resolve, and report on medium to highly complex technical issues requiring business application understanding.
  • Work closely with business clients to understand priorities and impact, and provide timely and accurate reports to management and end-users on the status of critical systems processes.
  • Proactively identify and act on emerging issues, working with Development teams to resolve them in the short and long term.
  • Learn about multiple applications and technologies, and provide cross-function support.
  • Make recommendations on process improvements and enhance system and support documentation.
  • Collaborate effectively with the development and SRE teams by identifying defects and opportunities for efficiencies through automation and enhancements.
  • Actively participate in Agile development projects to represent the interests of maintaining Production application stability and adhering to Production readiness standards.
  • Work on IT Risk deliverables, participating in DR exercises, helping in DR planning and design, and interacting with various auditors to ensure that applications function according to published RBC IT Risk Standards.
  • Provide direction, expertise, feedback, coaching, and development to build the capabilities of more junior staff.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a 24*7 production support role and supporting multiple applications.
  • Strong business domain understanding of Canadian Insurance and accounting basics.
  • Strong analytical skill set and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, apply critical and strategic thinking to issues, and manage deadlines while multi-tasking amongst different priorities.
  • Working knowledge of ITIL Standards, Methodologies, SDLC, & audit requirements.
  • Experience working with teams across various geographies.
  • Computer Science degree or equivalent.
