Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Mechanics Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in mechanics and related trades, with a focus on hands-on learning and real-world applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Provide individualized support and feedback to students
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in mechanics and related trades
Requirements
  • Valid BC Ministry of Education Trades Certificate or Professional Certificate
  • Red Seal or Certificate of Qualification in mechanics, recognized by the ITA
  • Valid BC driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Experience teaching in a middle or secondary school
Assets
  • Previous secondary school instructional experience
  • Experience using a restitution-based approach to classroom management and discipline
  • Professional development and experience in Trauma-Informed Care
  • Experience working in or with a First Nations community or in Indigenous education
