Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive hourly wage based on experience and qualifications ($/hour). Additionally, you will receive an extra $0.25 per hour for each ASE certification you possess or obtain. Other benefits include:

Job Description

As a Diesel Mechanic with First Student, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing school buses to ensure vehicle readiness and safety. Your duties will include:

  • Assisting with preventive maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual MTO maintenance inspections
  • Diagnosing and performing all phases of vehicle and equipment repair, including brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, & transmissions
  • Ensuring work orders are completed accurately
  • Assisting with mobile emergency services
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A valid driver's license
  • An S and/or T license
  • A mechanics tool set
  • The willingness to participate in ASE certification program
