Counsel, Claims Regulatory Compliance Specialist

Ignite Talent Solutions is seeking a highly motivated and experienced legal counsel to join our team in Markham. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing legal advice and support to our client, with a focus on compliance matters.
Key Responsibilities:- Review contracts and agreements, providing legal advice on legal and regulatory matters.
- Support the Chief Compliance Officer with all legal and litigation matters.
- Maintain a strong understanding of relevant legal and regulatory requirements, including the Bank Act, privacy laws, FCAC regulations, b10, b20, E-13, RCM guidelines.
- Assist with the development of policies and compliance matters.
- Provide training to staff on legal and compliance matters.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
- Represent the legal Department on special projects, new product proposals, and risk management initiatives, vendor contracts.
- Assess legal and reputational risk of new initiatives or changes to existing products and services.
- Strong professional and academic credentials.
- Law degree from an accredited law school and qualified to practice law in Canada.
- 2 years of experience practicing law.
- Superior analytical and communication skills both in legal and business settings.
