About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Health Care Aide to join our team at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. In this role, you will work closely with patients and families to provide exceptional care and support.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting clients with activities of daily living, providing direct client care, and working in a variety of settings including community, healthcare centers, and hospitals. This position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist clients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and feeding
  • Provide direct client care, including transferring and transporting patients
  • Work in a variety of settings, including community, healthcare centers, and hospitals
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams
  • Organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality results
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum Grade 10 education, Manitoba standards required
  • Successful completion of a recognized Health Care Aide course
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Training and/or maintenance of competence
  • Valid Manitoba Class 5 driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle (or willingness to travel year-round)
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (both oral and written)
  • Knowledge of Indigenous customs, traditions, and values is preferred
  • Ability to work shift work and weekends

Salary Information

The estimated salary for this position is $20-$23 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
