Job Summary:

The YMCA of Greater Vancouver is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Activity Leader, Support & Inclusion to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for children of all abilities.

About the Role:

  • Work effectively within a staff team to provide an inclusive environment of support, strategies, and resources for children with diverse needs to fully participate within the program.
  • Provide individual support to children within the program setting when required.
  • Help to build and contribute to a community environment of global supports and inclusion for all children through supporting their strengths and stretches.
  • Help children navigate conflict and role model positive behaviors.
  • Contribute to the development, integration, and maintenance of care plans within the program.
  • Provide enhanced ratio to support all children in the program, which may entail providing individual support from time to time.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 19 years of age
  • Experience working with children 5 – 12 with additional support needs
  • Emergency First Aid and CRC – C & AED
  • 20 hours of training in Child Development, Child Guidance and/or Nutrition an asset
  • Experience working with children with diverse needs
