Material Planning Team Leader

The Material Planning Team Leader will provide leadership to the Materials Team, ensuring that the team functions according to defined roles and expectations. This role will coordinate closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure supply and delivery of materials meet production requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direction and guidance to Planners, aligning with business objectives.
- Liaise with various departments to achieve production goals.
- Develop a supply plan to meet targeted dates, leveraging knowledge of materials and services.
- Support project scheduling activities to resolve scheduling issues.
- Analyze bills of material construction and changing material demand patterns.
- Resolve material issues and notify affected stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date databases of materials purchased and planned.
- Ensure the material master is accurate and perform audits as necessary.
- Review sales forecasts with the management team and suggest modifications based on current or historical demand.
- Support continuous improvement activities and make recommendations.
- Understand production schedules and coordinate with Production, Engineering, Purchasing, and Quality Teams to achieve production goals.
- Supervise and train new and current Material Planners.
- Maintain inventory accuracy of materials within the area of responsibility, performing cycle counts as scheduled and updating the Material Master based on changing demands.
- Handle field problems and after-sales issues related to materials, including backorders, shipping of loose parts, and orders for raw materials.
- Address quality issues related to materials.
- Own sustaining and improving current processes and systems in accordance with long-term objectives.

- Material Status
- Monthly KPI Reports - Sales, Material Consumption/Purchases, Inventory, After Sales
- Reports submitted as scheduled.
- Back-ups properly trained.
- Inventory accuracy standard maintained and cycle count schedules followed.
- Headwall BOMs and Phantom BOMs updated regularly to reflect changes and improvements in the company's operation.
- Degree in business, logistics, inventory management, or a related field preferred but not required.
- Experiences working with SAP preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in material planning, inventory management, production scheduling, or a related position.
- Above-average ability in Excel.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Ability to create and understand reports to make production decisions.
- Exceptional attention to detail and good command of the English language (read, write, speak) with respect to understanding and following all verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to work independently and harmoniously within a team environment.
- Well-organized, proactive, and positive approach in the workplace.
- Evidence of excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels.
