Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead the electrical design team to achieve strategic objectives and continuously improve services related to the city's electrical infrastructure.
  • Develop and implement program work plans, partnering with other branches to provide resources for design/review and construction services.
  • Establish and maintain the city's electrical specifications and drafting standards, ensuring all necessary regulatory requirements are met.
  • Manage the technical staff to ensure timely delivery in accordance with standards, setting operational performance goals and metrics.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a Professional Engineer designation and minimum 6 years related experience.
  • Registration or eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer in British Columbia.
  • Project Management Credentials (PMP) or equivalent is preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical engineering principles and standards, ability to manage and lead a diverse team in a unionized environment, and excellent written and oral communication skills.
