Library Resource Facilitator

Job Summary:
The Library Resource Facilitator will work with students, clients, and GDI programs to provide support functions such as management and promotion of library resource collections, ordering and processing of materials, job search, resume building, referrals, job postings, library resource searches, and directing calls and dealing with general enquiries from students, clients, and the public. The major emphasis of this position is to effectively manage the library resource collection and provide support as a career resource facilitator for GDI Training & Employment clients, the Métis community, and the community at large.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and promote library resource collections
- Order and process materials
- Provide job search support
- Assist with resume building
- Make referrals
- Post job openings
- Conduct library resource searches
- Direct calls and handle general enquiries
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a library technician diploma or relevant experience working in a library environment. The individual must have sound knowledge of and practical application skills in all Microsoft Office applications; excellent interpersonal and communication skills, flexibility, and the ability to work with individuals from various equity groups with little supervision. A good working knowledge of Métis history and culture would be a distinct asset.
Remuneration and Benefits:
The successful candidate will be remunerated according to the GDI Library Technician pay band.
