Job Summary
RhynoCare is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team in the Lake Cowichan area. As an LPN with RhynoCare, you will have the opportunity to work in a variety of long term and acute care facilities, providing high-quality nursing care to our residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Nursing Care
- Deliver nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician's orders, and the resident plan of care.
- Utilize sound nursing practice principles to ensure the delivery of excellent nursing and personal care.
- Ensure Resident Safety
- Ensure timely and accessible admission for residents, including a comprehensive orientation to the home and services offered.
- Ensure resident transfers and discharges are timely and safe.
- Manage Medications
- Ensure the supply, control, and safekeeping of drugs and narcotics.
- Ensure protocols are followed on all assigned shifts.
- Assess and Evaluate
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care to meet the physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and social needs of residents.
Requirements
- Active registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
- Able to work with persons with infectious diseases.
- BLS Certificate.
- Valid First Aid & CPR.
- Proof of current immunizations for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, and Varicella (MMRV), proof of negative TB skin test within one (1) year, as well as Hepatitis B.
- Current Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be able to work flexible shift times, depending on the facility.
- Must be able to 'float' from unit to unit within a hospital, depending on facility need.
- Must be reliable to be placed at an agreed-upon facility/unit.
- Must be in compliance with the RhynoCare Healthcare shift acceptance/cancellation policy.
