Job Description

As an Energy Planning Specialist - Design Expert, you will be responsible for coordinating projects, defining customer requirements, creating customer data, and ensuring all service product requirements are collected. You will also process jobs, review foreign utility data, draft work procedures, complete electronic layouts, and identify required approvals and materials.

You will work closely with customers and authorities to ensure all service products meet their needs. Additionally, you will maintain customer relations, respond to inquiries, and act as the primary contact for premium-rated builders and developers.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum post-secondary educational requirement: completion of a post-secondary Technology Diploma in an appropriate discipline.
  • Four (4) years directly related relevant work experience (a minimum of two (2) years typically gained as a Planning and Design Technologist 1).
  • Demonstrated strong organizational skills, including the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work under pressure during peak workload periods.
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills, including telephone call handling skills and the ability to respond to difficult or demanding situations with tact and diplomacy.
  • Demonstrated courteous, professional manner in dealing with internal and external contacts and customers, including positive interpersonal skills and the ability to provide direction in a team environment.
Additional Information

This position has restricted holiday availability based on operational requirements. It may also involve working shift work or late coverage depending on customer and operational requirements. The successful candidate will be able to keyboard at an intermediate level and hold a valid British Columbia Drivers license.

Certification at the technologist level by the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of British Columbia (ASTTBC) is an added asset.
