Overview

KPMG Canada is seeking a Senior Manager to join our Family Office service team in the Greater Vancouver Area. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-touch service to our multi-family office clients, acting as a wealth and investment consulting expert to Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) families and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise clients on strategic wealth and investment issues, including portfolio review, asset allocation, investment policy statements, investment manager due diligence, financial education, and investment reporting/monitoring.
  • Assist in client relationship management, managing client investment needs and providing exceptional service.
  • Support content development, including client and prospect presentation books, request for proposals, and other investment-related analyses.
  • Work with the Wealth/Investment Strategy leader on investment due diligence, benchmarking, strategic asset allocation, and investment oversight of external advisors.
  • Collaborate with the Wealth & Investment Strategy leader to offer advice on optimizing cash flow and the overall structure.
  • Gain a deep understanding of the investments and a general understanding of the fiscal, legal, and accounting implications.
  • Act as the project manager for Family Office engagements, coordinating various client-related moving parts and ensuring timely responses and delivery.
  • Help maintain client prospect lists, pipeline reports, and other business development/leadership update reports.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Finance, Commerce, Business, or Accounting.
  • CFA, CFP, CPA, CGA, or CIM designations are a plus.
  • 8+ years of client-facing/relationship management experience with a focus on wealth and investment strategy.
  • Broad knowledge of multiple asset classes.
  • Experience with various investment industry structures, players, and business models.
  • Prior experience in an investment advisory or financial planning role is an asset.
  • Prior experience working with a Family Office or professional services organization in a similar role is an asset.
  • Experience with ESG criteria and/or Impact investing is a plus.
  • Ability to synthesize large quantities of complex data into meaningful insights for the client.
  • Ability to work and effectively communicate with senior-level business partners.
  • Excellent business judgment, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong demonstrated use of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal/facilitation and client relationship management skills.
  • Has an eagerness to learn and help grow the practice.
  • Strong familiarity with KPMG service lines and a strong network within professional services is an asset.
  • Ability to work strategically and collaboratively across functions/groups.
  • Effective, versatile, and action-oriented.
