Warehouse Supervisor Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Warehouse Supervisor to join our team at Richelieu Hardware Ltd. in Sudbury, Ontario.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Supervise staff to ensure timely completion of daily shipping, receiving, returns, restocking, and putaway targets.
  • Oversee the release of orders to ensure they are picked in the correct order and suggest improvements.
  • Supervise receiving to ensure purchase orders are received in the correct order and deal with any discrepancies.
  • Provide job training to new employees and arrange training for all warehouse staff.
  • Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed by staff and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Provide performance feedback to staff and management and deal with any performance issues.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews of direct reports and keep the warehouse manager informed of operational needs.
  • Act as a key holder for lock-up and alarm response.
  • Review shipping, receiving, returns, restocking, and putaway errors with staff to reduce errors.
  • Analyze returns and suggest improvements to reduce returns.
  • Analyze damage claims and suggest improvements to reduce damage claims.
  • Analyze inventory adjustments and suggest improvements to reduce inventory adjustments.
  • Ensure customers are addressed quickly and professionally at the pick-up counter and doors 1 and 17.
  • Responsible for improving warehouse operations through root cause analysis and data analysis.

Requirements:

  • Multilingualism is an asset.
  • A college degree is an asset.
  • Experience in warehouse operations in a unionized environment.
  • Knowledge of operation and warehouse management of distribution processes.
  • Knowledge of Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.), of AS-400, of a Warehouse Management System, and of Radio Frequency.
  • Forklift and Reach Truck experience is preferred.
  • Experience with AS400 system is an asset.
  • Dedicated and full of energy.
  • Leadership skills and result-oriented.
  • Strong skills for organization, planning, and delegation.
  • Very disciplined person.
  • Teamwork approach (Team player as well as active player and lead by example).
  • Customer-oriented.
