Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Social Worker/Counsellor to join our team at BC Cancer, providing psychosocial support to cancer patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Screen, assess, and counsel patients and families regarding emotional and practical needs associated with their diagnosis.
  • Develop and facilitate group programs to meet the needs of patients and families.
  • Provide consultation to other disciplines and work as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Participate in planning and development of educational activities and quality improvement programs.
  • Provide clinical guidance to students and volunteers as required.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a social sciences discipline relevant to the job.
  • Minimum of two years of recent experience working in an interdisciplinary setting.
  • Eligible for registration with a designated professional regulatory body.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff.
