Job Summary

Ansatel Communications is seeking a skilled Telecommunication Cable Installation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our installation team, you will be responsible for installing and maintaining aerial and underground telephone equipment, testing equipment to locate transmission faults, and completing and maintaining test and service reports.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and maintain aerial and underground telephone equipment
  • Test equipment to locate transmission faults
  • Complete and maintain test and service reports
  • Determine nature, cause and location of trouble
  • Climb and work aloft on poles, ladders or other support structures
  • Connect, disconnect and relocate cable outlets
  • Determine work assignments
  • Install cable modems and software to enable Internet access
  • Maintain and repair aerial and underground transmission systems
  • Repair or replace faulty cables, power suppliers and amplifiers
  • Repair or replace defective telephone equipment
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
