Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced ERP and Database Systems Administrator to join our Information Technology team in Saint John, NB. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliable performance of our ERP system and providing technical support to end-users.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and manage our JD Edwards ERP system, including building and deploying new packages, installing ESUs, system upgrades, monitoring system health, troubleshooting issues, and supporting end-users.
- Manage and deploy Microsoft SQL Server Databases across our environment, including performance monitoring, security management, backups, and data recovery.
- Create and maintain accurate systems documentation.
- Develop and support integrations between database systems and application systems.
- Provide Tier 3 support for ERP and SQL Systems, handling escalated incidents and service requests while guiding our Tier 2 support team.
- Ensure business continuity of database systems in a disaster recovery scenario.
- Participate in projects focused on continuous improvement and contribute to the IT department's larger goals.
Requirements
- Two-year technical diploma in Information Technology or a related field, or a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 to 10 years' experience in server administration, database platforms, virtualization, and cloud-based technology.
- Project Management experience or certifications are considered an asset.
- ITIL, ISC2, and Microsoft SQL-related certifications are considered an asset.
Essential Skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to participate in on-call rotation.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders.
