Job Title: Child and Youth Community Support Worker

We are seeking a caring and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Child and Youth Community Support Worker in casual/on-call/part-time positions working within the community.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will work in a community setting (one-to-one) with individuals who are diagnosed with developmental delays, ADHD, FASD, Autism, OCD, and challenging behaviors.

The position entails assisting children and youth to work towards their goals, teaching life skills, community integration, and social skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist children and youth in achieving their goals and developing life skills
  • Teach community integration and social skills
  • Work in a community setting (one-to-one) with individuals with developmental delays, ADHD, FASD, Autism, OCD, and challenging behaviors

Requirements:
  • Knowledge and experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, physical disabilities, mental health concerns, and behaviors
  • Command of the English language with the ability to communicate effectively and complete daily documentation
  • Ability to understand and follow health care plans, personal protocols, schedules, and activities
  • Ability to follow policies and procedures, including health and safety policies
  • Competence to safely accompany/transport individuals to appointments and activities in the community
  • Knowledge and experience with community resources, integration, and teaching life skills
  • Class 5 BC Driver's License required and clean driver's abstract
  • Personal vehicle for work and car insurance with a third-party liability of $2 million
  • Positive Behaviour Management Training
  • Criminal Record Clearance, Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Children and Family Development
  • MANDT Training will be offered in-house
  • Food Safe Certificate
